I finished up the center medallion of the QAL (today... oops!). A cute 8" grape basket block.
It's not much to look at yet, but as the borders go around, it should become more lively :)
I plan to do more yellow quilts, so a yellow basket medallion it is! I think my friend Julie cringed when I told her my plan for a yellow quilt I have in mind to make! LOL! I did buy a bolt of Kona Highlight when I saw it was the color of the year too.... I can't help it, it's the color of Daffodils :) (add several heart emojis right here....) :)

Happy Monday!
I love your grape basket block. Nice background fabric. I look forward to seeing it grow with each round. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI would make my grape basket Purple, of course. I like that it isn't Applique. Lol I'll be skipping this SAL this time around. Watching them all on FB and Lori-s Blog
ReplyDeleteLovely center and what could be prettier than yellow? Glad to see another pieced center;).
ReplyDeleteI like yellow in quilts -- go for it!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, yes that yellow quilt you sent me the link for is cool, but intensely yellow! My guild members know that years ago I would never touch yellow, but it is a nice accent and your basket block is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLOL! It's gonna be so cool that you'll want to wear sunglasses when looking at it :) hehee!
DeleteLooking forward to seeing how this grows. I happen to love yellow, the more intense the better!
ReplyDeleteOooohhh, Yellow! I love yellow in quilts, it's a happy color. I'm so tempted to jump in to this SAL but I'm holding back right now. For a minute or 5. LOL Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteBut it's just a little basket block..... :) You can fit it in :)
DeleteIt didn't take me long to jump on the bandwagon. LOL
DeleteYour basket is wonderful and I look forward to seeing how you use the color yellow!!
ReplyDeleteI think your yellow basket is delightful! It will be interesting to watch your progress with the different rounds.
ReplyDeleteLovely soft butter yellow basket, have fun with the QAL. I'm looking forward to see how these grow. Off to cut fabrics for my borders!
ReplyDeleteLove the softness. Beautiful block.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty basket! I can't wait to see what you do next!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty- I do like it. Yellow is a cheerful color. This muted tone of yellow is very relaxing. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your quilt.
ReplyDeleteI like your grape basket! It's a beautiful background and very pretty shade of yellow. It can't possibly be too bright for Washington, the grey, rainy state! LOL This one will be fun to watch it grow!
ReplyDeleteI had not seen a grape basket before, so I was intrigued with yours. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI think your basket looks beautiful, both the fabrics and the colors. The yellow looks buttery to me but maybe that's the lighting? I'm not super keen on yellow but I have as much yellow fabric as any other color. I keep trying for a light buttery yellow but when I get it home it seems like it mutates to a brighter yellow. Don't know what that's about.... I'll have to look up Kona Highlight. Maybe it's the perfect yellow for me.
