Field Day: Front Porch Sewing

I totally understand the merits of machine sewing the binding, but I just haven't been satisfied with my attempts at it.  I do it sometimes if I need to get a quilt out right away... otherwise I plan on one side a day of handsewing it down.  I think I am now 7 days into this 4 day process! LOL!  Currently on side 3 :)

    I do a lot more of my bindings by machine now but I do still love hand stitching them down.....just save it for special ones. :)

    It has been a bit hot for holding a quilt in your lap so day seven isn't so bad. And in the end, no one will know. ;) I'm with Cindy, I do most of mine by machine now.

    Hand stitching Binding is My Favorite thing to do while watching TV, Reality TV that is. Hallmark Movies make me cry and I don't want tears on my quilt, LOL. Love this quilt. I saw it in the new Keepsake Catalog. The kit is affordable, if it only was in Purple rather than Yellow...

    I prefer hand stitching but for the essence of time and depending on the quilt I do it by machine. I usually allow an hour per side though! LOL
