Gwennie Inspired Medallion QAL

I finished up the center medallion of the QAL (today... oops!).  A cute 8" grape basket block.

Gwennie Inspired Medallion QAL

It's not much to look at yet, but as the borders go around, it should become more lively :)

I plan to do more yellow quilts, so a yellow basket medallion it is!  I think my friend Julie cringed when I told her my plan for a yellow quilt I have in mind to make! LOL!  I did buy a bolt of Kona Highlight when I saw it was the color of the year too.... I can't help it, it's the color of Daffodils :) (add several heart emojis right here....)  :)

Happy Monday!

  2. I would make my grape basket Purple, of course. I like that it isn't Applique. Lol I'll be skipping this SAL this time around. Watching them all on FB and Lori-s Blog

  5. LOL, yes that yellow quilt you sent me the link for is cool, but intensely yellow! My guild members know that years ago I would never touch yellow, but it is a nice accent and your basket block is awesome!

  12. Very pretty- I do like it. Yellow is a cheerful color. This muted tone of yellow is very relaxing. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your quilt.

  13. I like your grape basket! It's a beautiful background and very pretty shade of yellow. It can't possibly be too bright for Washington, the grey, rainy state! LOL This one will be fun to watch it grow!

  15. I think your basket looks beautiful, both the fabrics and the colors. The yellow looks buttery to me but maybe that's the lighting? I'm not super keen on yellow but I have as much yellow fabric as any other color. I keep trying for a light buttery yellow but when I get it home it seems like it mutates to a brighter yellow. Don't know what that's about.... I'll have to look up Kona Highlight. Maybe it's the perfect yellow for me.
